Inspection modes

Two views, one key. Press V to toggle Default and Peek. Press Space to freeze the element.

Default

The standard view, for developers. Tag and class selector, dimensions, and the authored CSS rule list with color swatches. Pseudo-classes and resolved var() values are included. This is the view you will use most of the time.

Peek

A stripped summary, for designers: the typeface, size and weight, the key colors, and a WCAG contrast readout. The smallest, fastest view, for scanning across many elements when you only need to identify something.

Toggling

Press V to toggle between Default and Peek. The choice persists for the session, so pick the one that suits your task and keep going.

Freezing

Press Space to freeze the element so the tooltip stops following the cursor. From Default this opens the editor; from Peek it freezes the summary in place so you can read it and copy swatches. Press Space again, or Esc, to unfreeze.
